I haven’t written a book review on this site for a long time, however I have been reading a lot! You can expect reviews for 7 more entries of The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher, some graphic novel reviews (such as Green Arrow: Year One, The Punisher by Jason Aaron, Jupiter’s Legacy Volume 1 and 2, by Mark Millar… and more!), Red Dragon by Thomas Harris and more.
I am currently reading a few books and have a lot on my radar, so here are my reading plans for the foreseeable future.
The Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie
The Blade Itself and every other book by Joe Abercrombie has been on my reading list for a while. I read Half a King a few years ago and enjoyed it, and I’m ready to jump into some gritty fantasy.
I am about 16% into this book at the moment and enjoying it so far. I’m noticing that it’s quite political and I love that.
Skin Game by Jim Butcher
Onto book 15 of The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and I am not tired of these books. After a rough start, I have only loved these entries, one after the other. Last christmas I read 6 in under 2 weeks (reviews coming soon) and had a blast watching Harry do his thing.
I’m looking forward to finally catching up with this series and waiting for the next entries with everyone else.
The Shadow Rising by Robert Jordan
I am giving The Wheel of Time another go. Last time, I only got to book 5, The Fires of Heaven, but I loved the first 4 books and rereading them has been a pleasure. I read books 1-3 in a few weeks at the beginning of 2022, so it’s time to get back into it. I will be taking it slowly, but this was my favourite of the first 4 books, so I know I’ll enjoy it.
Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan
Another reread on this list. I haven’t read the Age of the Five trilogy by Trudi Canavan for almost 10 years now. I am 40% into Priestess of the White and enjoying being back in this world.
Why You Should Read the Age of the Five Trilogy
These books might not be the best fantasy books in the world, but with my nostalgia for them and the fantastic main character, mysteries and politics, they are definitely in my top 10 fantasy series of all time.
Dune by Frank Herbert
I started reading Dune by Frank Herbert around January 2022 and haven’t picked it up again. I enjoyed it, but wasn’t really in the right mood for it. I will be again eventually, and I’ll finish the book. I really enjoyed the latest film and as a fan of classic sci-fi, I’ll be glad to have read this one.
Closing Thoughts
Those are all the books I am currently reading. I am also picking up comics and graphic novels I will talk about in the future. Coming soon is a list of all the books and series I am excited to start in the next few months and over the next few years too. So many books, so little time!
