The Fantasy Review’s review of A Working Man (2025).

If you’re tired of watching generic action flicks where Jason Statham is a “normal” bloke who then goes and bashes heads and shoots people for 90 mins, I don’t know what to tell you. These movies are addictive.

Review of A Working Man (2025)

Was A Working Man an epic movie that I will remember years from now? No, I doubt I’ll remember it a week from now.

However, it was action-packed, stupid action fun, and that’s what I signed up for.

I’ve rarely come into these kinds of films looking to emotionally engage with the characters, and that’s lucky, because this plot and the characters are pretty lifeless. There is some connection with the main character (Levon Cade) and his daughter, which serves as the entire characterisation of this “working man” – it’s decent.

The issue with the plot with Levon and his daughter is how it ends. The movie wraps up the action, defeating the bad guys, and then quickly rushes the plot with the daughter and who gets custody of her.

Honestly, though, who cares?

This is a Jason Statham action movie that delivers on everything you want. The action is great, the plot is predictable but fun, and the acting isn’t terrible.

Crack open the snacks, put your feet up, and switch off your brain for 90 mins. Enjoy, and don’t take it seriously.
