October TBR - 2019 - The Fantasy Review

October TBR – 2019

I am not a huge fan of TBRs (for myself) as I feel it adds a lot of pressure, so I’m just going to talk about the books I want to read from now and through October, but without promising to read all of them!

The Wise Man’s Fear by Patrick Rothfuss

I just picked this book up two days ago and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s so nice to settle back into Rothfuss’ lyrical prose and watch Kvothe be too good at everything!

I think I’ll be taking this one slowly, taking time to enjoy it. Mainly because the final book of the trilogy isn’t out and won’t be out for ages so there is no rush!

Words of Radiance by Brandon Sanderson

I LOVED the first book in The Stormlight Archive, The Way of Kings earlier this year and I’ve had a bit of a break from large fantasy books so it’s time to go back to this series.

I’m excited to see what’s in store and which character is the main one for this book. I’m also excited to go back into the world! I love the setting of the books – it’s so rich and full of life and there are so many unanswered questions!

Fire and Blood by George R.R. Martin

Talk about no pressure to finish this TBR! This is a huge book but it’s definitely not something to be read quickly. I want to take my time, and basically study the history of the Targaryens. I’m interested in what the book has to say and the biased narration of the book is even more intriguing – I love an unreliable narrator!

Anyway, that’s my TBR for October. What books are you planning to read next month, or/and what are you currently reading? Are there any books based on the ones above you might suggest I read?
