Glass Onion (2022) – Film Review

Spoiler-Free Glass Onion Film Review

I loved the first Knives Out film and the sequel was just as good! It was Agatha Christie meets The Social Network and I had so much fun!

Better Than Knives Out?

No, but it wasn’t worse either. The first film felt smaller, more intimate, and more similar to the classic Agatha Christie types of mystery, whereas Glass Onion felt like a bigger, more exciting story – despite not actually being all that dissimilar.

The Suspects

We have a close-knit group of people, all connected in various ways and they all have their own reasons for wanting to kill or hate one or more of the others in their group. I really enjoyed learning about all their different backstories and trying to figure out who might want to kill who.

Miles Bron (the Elon Musk of this story) was played brilliantly by Edward Norton – definitely one of the best performances in the film. However, everyone was fantastic in this – including the fantastic Daniel Craig as the rather odd Detective Benoit Blanc.

The Murder

There is little I can say here without spoilers, but let’s just say that the film doesn’t give you much! You will not see where the story is going, and then when the twists start to happen you will be on the edge of your seat like I was!

The story was gripping and the 2 hours and 20 minute runtime flew by quickly. The pacing was a little strange in certain places, but that didn’t take me out of the film too much.

A Positive Glass Onion Film Review?

Definitely! It’s available on Netflix and you should certainly take the time to sit through this intriguing, and often funny murder-mystery.
