The Fantasy Review’s guide to everything you need to know before watching Agatha All Along on Disney Plus.
With the release of Marvel’s latest TV series on Disney Plus, here is everything you need to know before watching the witchy Agatha All Along!
Who is Agatha Harkness?
Originally created by Stan Lee in 1969, Agatha Harkness was brought into the MCU in 2021 with her role in the miniseries WandaVision.
Harkness is a witch, one of the originals, from the 1600s. She escaped the witch trials at Salem, killing her Salem coven in self-defense.
In 2023, she went to investigate Wanda Maximoff’s Hex in Westview and ended up trying to steal her powers. Wanda / The Scarlet Witch defeated her though, stealing all of Harkness’ power for herself and trapping Agatha in a vision of her own.
Premise
After being trapped in Westview for over three years, Agatha Harkness is released from her mental prison by a teenager she calls “Teen”. Teen helped her because he wants to go down the Witches’ Road and have his dreams/wishes come true, and this could help her get powers again, after Wanda stole them three years before.
Harkness and Teen recruit a small coven of witches and go together to face the trials of the Witches’ Road.

Why Did the Show Title Change So Many Times?
The show was first announced as Agatha: House of Harkness, and later Agatha: Coven of Chaos. Then it was changed again to Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, and later again to Agatha: The Lying Witch and the Great Wardrobe.
They eventually went with Agatha All Along, which is the title of the song Agatha sings in WandaVision.
The title kept changing because Marvel Studios wanted to add a little mystery to the marketing of the show. Agatha, the character herself, is to blame for the changes in the title.
