October Wrap-Up 2022 - The Fantasy Review

October Wrap-Up 2022

Here is my October Wrap-Up 2022! It’s my birthday month, so I’ve been enjoying reading and recieving books – check out my October Book Haul 2022 to see what I bought this month.

Let’s get into the books I read in October 2022, because that’s why you’re here:

#1 – Skin Game by Jim Butcher

I am now 15 books into The Dresden Files by Jim Butcher and still enjoying the series. There is nothing like the comfort of flicking through these pages at break-neck pace, watching Harry and his companions battling and outsmarting all kinds of odds stacked against them.

#2 – The Look of a King by Tom Dumbrell

october wrap-up 2022

I recieved a copy of this book so long ago, I thought it was about time I gave it a read! The Look of a King by Tom Dumbrell is an enjoyable, easy read in the fantasy genre. We have a little mistake identity, a large, political landscape, and enemies at every turn.

This was a fantastic debut and I look forward to reading the 2 remaining books in the trilogy.

#3 – Unsouled by Will Wight

Oh how I loved this book! I had never heard of progressive fantasy before and I think I have been missing out! It wasn’t a perfect book, far from it, but the potential for the rest of the series is too obvious to ignore – I will definitely be continuing with the Cradle series by Will Wight soon!

#4 – Dead Man’s Hand by James J. Butcher

The final book I completed this month was Dead Man’s Hand by James J. Butcher, the son of Jim Butcher who you saw at the beginning of this October Wrap-up. This was a fantastic new urban fantasy world with great humour, strong characters and a world I would like to see much more of!
