Doctor Who: David Tennant Breaks Out of Character into Childish Glee Upon Seeing the New Tardis Interior

What do you think of the new Tardis interior???

SPOILER WARNING – There will be spoilers for The Star Beast, the first of three 60th Anniversary episodes, including images from the set. You can read our spoiler-free review of The Star Beast here.

I think I speak for most of the Doctor Who fandom when I say that it was a joy to see David Tennant running around the flashy new Tardis at the end of The Star Beast. Apparently it took eight takes, and he needed a bit of a break between each one!

David Tennant and Catherine Tate both jumped excitedly together and then Tennant, breaking into a run, grinned and yelled in childish glee, making his way up and down the largest Tardis set of the new era. This encapsulated my own glee at seeing the absolutely incredible new Tardis!

The Moffatt era saw the introduction of levels into the Tardis console room, which was brilliant for both general visuals and physical acting on the spaceship. This new Tardis is very different to all the modern era ones, however, as it is white!

Russell T Davies said in Doctor Who: Unleashed, (or the Doctor Who Podcast on YouTube, I can’t remember, but he did say it!) that he loved seeing all the white Tardises popping up in the Moffatt and Chibnall episodes, with the Fugitive Doctor and War Doctor. And who can resist the round things?!

The new look is modern, sleek, and all the “round things” can light up in a variety of colours. You get a good look at how these colours will be used in future episodes, with them turning red/orange once Donna’s coffee sets the nice new console on fire!

Anyway, enjoy these pictures of the gorgeous new Tardis!
